To promote the equitable prosperity of all residents by fostering robust informed debate and discussion on policy issues being consider by the City of Alexandria. Additionally, the Coalition will promote public awareness of national and regional organizations, their lobbyists, or other external interest groups actively advocating on major issues before the City, and work to preclude them from being afforded more consideration than Alexandria residents, groups, organizations, or businesses.
The Coalition will engage to promote alternative viewpoints when information presented to the public by policy makers appears weighted to favor a particular outcome. The intent is to foster informed debate and discussion and facilitate a balanced understanding of all sides of policy and procedural issues being considered by the City of Alexandria.

The Coalition For A Livable Alexandria, Inc. recognizes there is an acute need for more affordable housing in the City of Alexandria. However, this is not unique to Alexandria or the region, it is a national issue. The city has and should continue to do its part by pursuing sensible policies to enhance housing affordability. We believe this can be achieved without concessions for overdevelopment or pitting residents against each other. City officials can achieve this without sacrificing Alexandria's unique charm or historic character, and still enhance livability and quality of life for all. To that end the Coalition initiated a ZFH/HFA Campaign. To learn more, go to our website campaign page.
