Who we are

Incorporated by the Commonwealth of Virginia as a nonprofit corporation organized under section 501(c)(4) of the Internal Revenue Code. We are a City of Alexandria grassroots organization.  We are not affiliated with another regional or national civic social advocacy organization.  CLA's Board of three officers and four directors serve pro bono. 

 The Coalition For A Livable Alexandria, Inc. (the “Coalition” or “CLA”) serves to encourage full and open dissemination of all sides of major issues that affect the welfare of residents of the City of Alexandria 

Quality of life and livability; neighborhood composition; accessibility and mobility; economic opportunity and prosperity; education; health and safety; infrastructure; environment; recreation; sensible density; and overarching concerns throughout the City such as policy or procedural issues
